VACATION!
Mom and Dad took me on a whirlwind vacation for two whole weeks. We drove all around and visited lots of friends and family. I didn't like the long car rides all that much, though. Dad thought maybe I could take a turn at the wheel, but I think he was a little road dazed.
Our trip started with a visit with my new friend Conner in Ohio. He's just a baby, but he sure is cute! Then we went to Gumpoo and Nana Sheila's house in Virginia. I loved spending time in the backyard with Gumpoo; we had a great visit.
We took a train ride into Washington DC and visited with Mom's cousin Carrie, who is going to have a baby boy any day now. Yea, more family!
I wanted to stay with Gumpoo a little longer, but it was time to move on down the road. Once we got to the farm, though, I didn't have to spend anymore long days in the car.
I liked having a whole house to run around in--with a screened-in porch and a great big yard even! Mom and Dad set up an easel on the porch and I had lots of fun learning how to use crayons ("Paper only, paper only, paper only," Mom kept saying. I gotta get used to that; I thought the floor took wax pretty well). I also got to make a little house of my own from a dishwasher box and color the outside!
Dad showed me what cows were. At first I thought they were big doggies, just like I thought the squirrels in Gumpoo's back yard were little doggies. But I finally got it that cows say "moo" and doggies say "uff" (and that birdies say "twee twee!"). Dad and I said goodnight to the cows every night, and every morning I was so excited to see them that my first word of the day was "MOO!"
We had a great time down on the farm. It was hard to leave and get back in the car for the long ride home. We stopped a lot along the way, though. I got to swim in a pool and play checkers, but the ride was exhausting and I'm glad to be back home with my kitties (who say "mau").
